Once your Cone Drive gearbox arrives at our
facility we disassemble, clean, inspect and measure all
gears and shafts and determine if your Cone Drive gears and
shafts are qualified to be repaired. If the Cone Drive gears
and shafts are not repairable, we have the
capabilities and expertise to manufacture all new Cone Drive
gears and shafts such as Helical, Double Helical,
Herringbone, Split Herring bone, Bevel, Spiral Bevel, Spur
Gears, Ring Gears, Eternal Ring Gears, Rack & Pinion, Worm
Gears, Double Enveloping Worm Gears, Hypoid Gears, Screw
Gears, Plus More! Once your
Cone Drive gearbox is repaired we then do a six hour
test run for overheating, vibration, and leaking to ensure
our 24 Month Guarantee. National Gear Box Repair can do all
of these repairs and rebuilds at a considerable amount of
saving rather than buying a new Cone Drive gearbox.
Years Of Experience Working With Cone Drive Gearboxes
National Gear Repair has worked hands on with Cone-Drive Gearboxes for generations. We
pride ourselves on our unique circumstances to work with all the incredible machinery produced
by Timken and all of its brands as they are respected internationally for their reliability and
quality of work. Conedrive Gearboxes are still produced by
Cone Drive and all of their
components are manufactured by the OEM.
Condrive Gearboxes are utilized in many industries primarily due to their design focus being on
raw torque and high precision. The Cone Drive Right Angle Gearbox is utilized for industrial
applications that require high output with increased precision in a quiet package. For Higher
torque applications the ConeDrive Series HP Right Angle Gearbox is known for having the
highest torque in a right angle gearbox. Due to their high torque applications these ConeDrive
Gearboxes have high shock resistance and are regulated to endure high starting and stopping
load and can easily transmit double or triple the torque as any other right angle gearbox.
Cone Drive as a company has always put the customer first regardless of their size. Having
started as a small company producing gearboxes for local manufacturing centers Cone-Drive
Gearboxes are still produced for smaller operations that may not have the capital for normal
Cone-Drive Gearboxes. The Cone Drive Series B is a gearbox solution that packs a punch while
maintaining economic flexibility. The Cone Drive Series B Gearbox is a low cost compact
solution to fulfill low to medium power requirements up to 20 hps and 5000 lbs of torque in a
single stage with cone drives long lasting performance.
For Higher output some facilities utilize the ConeDrive Duo Drive Gearbox. Using one worm to
power the input shaft to turn two gears simultaneously in opposite rotations, this pinch roll
reducer is designed for cold roll forming, tube mills and wiremills. This design is also utilized by
Sumitomo Gearboxes which also are designed to fill space and sizes between D40 and D240
with two gears.
Is Your Cone Drive Gearbox in Need of Repair?
National Gear Repair Hires Certified Technicians with Engineering backgrounds to perform and
maintain the utmost quality in regards to maintaining the proper repair process to the highest of
quality standards. For Example with regard to bearings, Certified Technicians dont just torch off
bearings or press them off. Using their experience and education they shrink bearings by
chilling them with liquid nitrogen and instal them into housings by superheating the housing
causing them to slide and snap and lock in place due to thermal expansion. All bearing floats
and preloads are measured and set to OEM specifications. All Technicians at National Gear
Repair are TImken Bearing Certified as well as Falk School Certified.
Once National Gear Repair picks up your gearbox we bring it back to start out multi point
inspection process which involves the complete breakdown and cleaning of all individual
components through a parts washer to allow us to find the fault within the gearbox. As
sometimes it may be the housing, Shafts, gears, pinions or bearings. Once we find the fault we
send a quote over for free. If your not happy with the quote we can put the gearbox together
exactly how we got it, However if you approve the work we can start with our
Industrial Gearbox
Repair process.
